Dr. W. Donald Cooke MD FAAAAI is a graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He did a residency in Internal Medicine at UNM Hospital, and completed fellowship training in allergy and immunology at the State University of New York in Stony Brook, NY. Dr. Cooke did basic research in clinical immunology as well as patient care at the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, Pennsylvania, before moving to Durango in 1995. He now does clinical work in pediatric and adult allergy, asthma, and clinical immunology.

Wendy Craig MA trained as a medical assistant at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and joined Dr. Cooke in 1995. Wendy oversees the immunotherapy (allergy shot) clinic and has 26 years of experience in allergy care.

Jess Buikema joined the practice in November 2024 after working at a local primary care office. She grew up in Pagosa and has lived in Durango with her husband since 2008. Jess is an avid horseback rider and spends her spare time with her horse and taking her Great Pyrenees pup for walks with her husband.  

Jack Lusby BSB, ADN joined us in June 2023. He graduated from the University of Arkansas and completed his nursing education with Pueblo Community College. He enjoys hiking, trail running and skiing.

Abigail (Abbie) Tarr Cooke BSN, RN, RDH has been employed by the practice since 2008 and has a special interest in allergy advocacy and anaphylaxis preparedness in the schools. https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/2377960819845246
